Aikikai Foundation Takemusu Aikido Association
|
As a new comer, your teacher will ask you about your goals in learning Aikido. Each one of us has our own intention for joining. It could be for health reason, coordination of mind and body, exercise, self defense, past time, relaxation, cultural immersion or for self improvement . There is really no single right answer for this. Aikido is a vast new world that offers so much. Your teachers just wanted to know what you seek in order to help you better and understand you and your training goals. There are people who join and leave and there are people who stayed and trained for decades. We have seen many people through the years who come in with very simple goals of learning the external teaching of Aikido. As they stayed longer, they discovered something more and the readjusted their training goals. There are still those special individuals , our sempai and teachers who trained for scores and ages. These are the people who continuously inspires us. We are grateful for their examples. Whatever your intentions are, if you come in good spirit, we welcome you to the DOJO. "Oneigashimas- Let us go and practice our Aikido together". -Kaicho-
